About our Trainer/Consultant
Dr. Strickland served in the United States Army in numerous tactical, operational, teaching and research assignments. Notable assignments included serving as a Cavalry Troop Commander in Europe, as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the United States Military Academy, and as Associate Professor of Operations Research at the Army Logistics Management College.
Dr. Strickland has also served in the defense industry as a Chief Scientist and M&S Technical Director. His work included: (1) modeling and simulation for numerous Future Combat Systems (FCS) programs; (2) studies, analysis and training for NASA; (3) studies and analyses for the Army Space and Missile Defense Command using agent-based simulation; (4) professional development training in simulation for the University of Alabama in Huntsville; and (5) modeling and simulation verification and validation, and threat modeling for the Missile Defense Agency.
Dr. Strickland has presented tutorials on modeling and simulation at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), published numerous papers on modeling and simulation, and has published a textbook on combat modeling.
Dr. Strickland holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mathematics, and is a Certified Modeling and Simulation Professional (CMSP) and Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP). He has taught courses in Military Modeling and Simulation, Discrete Event Simulation, Network Virtual Simulation, Battlefield Constructive Simulation, Data Analysis, Applied Statistics, and Project Management.
